Two of them with their own terrace and air conditioning. Each with its own private bathroom, including shower and/or bathtub and decorated with beautiful Moroccan tiles and flagstones.
Magnificent view to Marocco and Gibraltar
Sit down and enjoy the always changing views southwards. On clear days you can easily spot the Atlas mountain range which is an incredible 700 km away. The distance to Gibraltar is about 40 km.

Location and what to do
Finca Olivar is located near the Costa del Sol in beautiful Andalusia, southern Spain. The nearest village is the beautiful artists’ village of Gaucin. It is about 40 km north of Gibraltar at 500 meters above sea level. The nearest airport is Malaga, but it is also possible to fly to Gibraltar, Jerez de La Frontera or Seville.
Gaucin - artists' village
About 3 km from Finca Olivar, the picturesque white village of Gaucin is a real jewel in the Serrania de Ronda. It offers cosy bars, restaurants and galleries as well as supermarkets, petrol stations and small shops where you can conveniently shop for your daily needs ... and much more.
Beaches and swimming
It is only a 25 km / 30 minute drive to reach the beautiful seven kilometers long beach of Manilva with a coastline ranging from rocky coves to sandy beaches. The beaches of Sotogrande and Marbella are also within easy reach. Depending on rainfall, there are a few opportunities to swim in different rivers within a 15-30 minutes drive. Gaucin also has a small municipal swimming pool.

Hiking
The entire Gaucin area is a fantastic place for hikers and trail runners of all levels. There is a large community exploring these paths and making them available to all. A great treasure trove for all of them are the books by Patrick Elvin, which you can find on our finca and in the local bookshop. Wikiloc is the APP for hikers, you will find an incredible number of trails just waiting for you to explore them.
Deep sky and Milkyway photography
Finca Olivar is the ideal location to explore Andalucia and follow your love of the night sky. This area has around 270 clear nights a year. Our sky quality meter peaked at SQM 21.4 with a solid overall score of 21. We offer special workshops and camps with professional equipment included - for all levels.
Three national parks nearby
The parks offer scenic hiking trails, rich and varied ecosystems, and breathtaking views. This landscape offers mountains, rivers, meadows, cork oak groves, orchards and much more. The three main parks are La Sierra de Grazalema with its most impressive landscape, Los Alconocales, the last Mediterranean rainforest, and La Sierra de las Nieves with its unique unique species of fir.
Bird watching and photography
This region of the Sierra de Ronda offers fantastic bird watching opportunities. Gaucín is surrounded by a variety of habitats. Griffon Vultures have their breeding colonies at a gorge nearby and in Casares just 15 minutes drive away. Additionally, Gaucín lies at the border of the Europe-Africa migration route, so it only takes a 15-60 minute drive to see many of the 30-40 million migratory birds leaving and return to Europe. During these migration times we offer photographing camps for all skil levels.
